Oshadai was born from a desire to return to elegant authenticity. The name of Oshadai is evocating this aspiration. “Shadai” are the sandbags of our Chinese childhood that were so simple, yet treasured because they were pretty and allowed us to play for hours. Those sandbags were made of used colorful rags, filled with rice or beans and sewed together in harmony. Simple childhood games remind us of the purest state of mind, this is the essence of Oshadai.

Oshadai designer
Daidi is Oshadai’s founder and chief designer. She is one of the most recognized Chinese designers in the field of home design and has taught Fashion Design prior to become a full time creator. Prior to founding Oshadai, Daidi was heading the design of Shanghai Trio.
A French citizen, born in China, Daidi enriches her work from multicultural experience. Her work focuses on the revival of the modern Chinese aesthetics, in modeling the rich details and beautiful colors, maintaining a consistent purity, bringing to design sincere personality.
